After a spectacularly hot summer we are now heading into Autumn and the temperatures are finally starting to cool a little, at night at least. We thought we would take the opportunity to let you know that March, April and May are the months for laying down your new lawn. With the weather cooling off and the ground still holding plenty of warmth this is great conditions for new seed to germinate. With a well prepared base and good quality seed you will have a great lawn that can last for years.
MARCH APRIL AND MAY TO PREPARE YOUR FUTURE LAWN.
Here are some tips from Barry that can help.
Tip 1: Spray your lawn now. Spraying gets rid of all the weeds. Talk to your local nurseryman for the best spray in your area and particularly if you have children
Tip 2: Apply lime to your soil when preparing the seed bed. This ensures a good nutritional base for your new seed.
Tip 3: When you are applying the seed to the new area, apply a good quality fertilizer. Again talk to your nurseryman for organic and child friendly products
If however, you really don’t want all the hard work and you are keen to talk to us about lawn preparation then visit our website at www.barrysbobcats.kiwi or call Barry on 0274518810
